Great First Week in July!

Happy 4th of July, everyone! After nearly 21 days of rain, we finally had the most perfect summer day here in New England. Wonderful breeze, 75 degrees, sunny! The family gathered at Lolo and Lola's house, including Andy and Marie's family!

The kids playing in the pool at Lola and Lolo's house. The pool was just starting to fill up, but we let the kids jump in anyways (yes, some of them were fully clothed).

Gavin, squirting Jada with the water hose!

Even Baby Nina (who isn't quite a baby anymore!) got in on the action!

Mia and Gavin trying to get warm after the cold swimming pool!

Post-pool corn time!
The baby boys were pretty mad that THEY didn't get to go in the pool with the big kids!

"Don't worry, Evan!" says Kainoa. "We'll make up for it next year by peeing in the pool...."

Joli with her new found love of swimming goggles.

Oh, Jada.

Uncle Lons with Evan
Some of the men -- Jorge said to JP, "Get your hands off of my meat...." We'll just leave it at that.

Last week, we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese just to get out of the house. Naturally, we went during a torrential down pour! But, once inside, the kids had a great time!

Happy July!

In other news, Joli had a wonderful week off of school and did lots of fun things with me and the cousins! Jada starts Camp next week with Joli and will go 3 days a week. Evan will spend his last week with me before I return to work (booo hoooo). He's laughing out loud now, grabbing at his toys in his bouncy seat, and is really interacting with people. He is a very happy baby who is quite content just sitting up and watching the world go by! Evan has been getting used to taking the bottle (which, has to be warmed just right for him!) and has been spending much more time awake. He has been chewing on his hand, which leads us to believe he might be teething soon, especially given all the drool coming from his mouth!

Off to bed! It's almost midnight, and Joli and I just got home from watching the fireworks display in our town. It was Joli's first time seeing fireworks on the 4th of July -- she is usually fast asleep! She loved it, and it was a nice treat to spend an hour or so with Joli!

Happy July!
